Why an emulator beats a replacement ELV
Mercedes' original ELV uses a tiny stepper motor that wears out. Replacing it with another OEM unit just resets the failure clock — most fail again within 18-30 months. An ELV emulator simulates the electrical handshake with the EIS so the car starts normally, but eliminates the failure-prone moving parts entirely. Permanent fix.
